Mystery Creative is the creative home of filmmaker and educator Evan Warner.

Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Evan developed a passion for filmmaking and media arts while growing up in the small town of Wolfville in rural Nova Scotia. Evan now has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus on film and a minor in political science from Simon Fraser University. He has spent the last 6 years in Vancouver and Montreal working as a freelance filmmaker predominately editing independent Canadian documentaries, often with a social or political focus. He is now at Acadia University doing his Bachelor of Education with teachables in Technology Education and Social Studies.

Evan has worked in many different roles in the film industry but is most well known (nominated for a British Columbia Film Award) for his work co-editing the feature documentary film People of a Feather, directed by Joel Heath. People of a Feather has played at festivals all over the world and is the winner of many prestigious awards including The Best Film of British Columbia in 2011 awarded by the Vancouver Film Critics Circle and The Best Feature Documentary at The Green Film Festival in Seoul Korea in 2012.

In addition to film, Evan is a very active person with a love of everything from hockey, soccer and badminton to hiking, and kayaking. During the summer of 2011, Evan had the amazing experience of traveling across Canada on a 3 month long bicycle trip. Many of his educational values come from his time spent as both a councillor and coordinator of several different environmental summer camps with a strong focus on experiential education.

Returning home to Nova Scotia to do a Bachelors of Education at Acadia University, he hopes to use this wealth of experience as a future teacher.
